December 22, 1944 – July 21, 2025
Heaven gained a precious soul on July 21, 2025, when our beloved Alice went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loving family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, grace, and unwavering kindness.
Alice is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Manuel; her son, Paul Manuel (Heather); her daughters, Deborah Carter (John) and Denise Manuel; and her brother, Robert Edmonson (Janet). She is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel, father, Virgil Robert, and sister Mabel. Her memory will live on through her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—each of whom she loved deeply and prayed for daily.
Born on December 22, 1944, in El Paso, Texas, Alice lived her life as a shining light of Christ’s love. With a gentle spirit and a heart full of compassion, she touched the lives of everyone she met. She made all feel welcome, seen, and cared for—whether through a warm hug, a kind word, or a lovingly prepared meal. Her home was a place of peace, laughter, love, and prayer.
Multi-talented and hardworking, Alice began her career as a secretary at Travelers Insurance in Miami, Florida. She went on to serve as a Kindergarten teacher at Eden Baptist Church, secretary at several churches, a manager for Tupperware, and later held positions at JCPenney and K-Mart.
A faithful member of Central Baptist Church, Alice was never shy about sharing her love for Jesus. She served with humility—organizing missions conferences, teaching children in Christian schools, Sunday School, and Backyard Bible Clubs, and sharing her faith daily with those around her. She was a gifted pianist, joyfully singing hymns and encouraging others through Scripture. But more than anything, she lived her faith. Her life was a daily reflection of Christ’s mercy and grace. She loved deeply, forgave freely, and gave generously. She believed in the power of prayer and the promise of heaven—and instilled those truths in her family, friends, and even strangers.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing she has heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Her life was a testimony to the goodness of God, and her legacy of love and faith will continue for generations.
